Bike Hire


During season our hire shop is open 9:30am to 5pm. Bikes must be returned by 5pm on your final day. Overdue bikes will be charged at our standard day rate.

All bikes are supplied with a helmet which we strongly recommend you always wear. Ride safety at all times. Specific safety instructions apply to those using the National Trust estate at Penrose (supplied at time of hire).

If you are hiring a bike(s) your equipment has been reserved in a specific size. Please check your confirmation to ensure you have ordered the correct size. If you are concerned you have ordered the wrong size please call to discuss. Any changes received less than 7 days before your date of hire are solely at management discretion and will depend on availability.

If you do not intend to pay by credit or debit card you will be asked to provide a credit/debit card swipe at the time of receiving your bikes. In the absence of a credit/debt card swipe a £100 cash deposit per bike is required. You are also required to provide photo identification (passport or drivers licence). In the absence of suitable ID we may not release your bikes. 

Bikes and equipment must be securely locked when not in use. You will be provided with a lock which must be placed through a wheel, the frame and an immovable item. You are liable for any loss or damage to our equipment. In the event of such incidents you will be charged the replacement cost price. In the event of theft, where you have secured our equipment as described above, you may be covered under our cycle specific insurance. In this event you will be liable to the insurance excess.

Bikes are serviced and cleaned prior to each hire period. In the event of bikes being returned in extremely dirty conditions we reserve the right to charge your credit/debit card with a £20 cleaning fee per bike.

Reservations cancelled up to 14 days in advance of the hire period will attract a full refund. Cancellations under 14 days will attract a 50% refund. Cancellations after the start of a hire period will not normally attract any refund.

We continuously update our fleet of bikes - website booking images and descriptions may not reflect the actual bike provided. 

We offer a free delivery and collection service on all order over £60.00. This service is available in the following areas : Falmouth, Helston, Porthleven, Penzance, St Ives and Lizard peninsula. You are not required to be present when we deliver and collect.

We aim to offer a simple and stress free service. In the unlikely event that you experience a mechanical breakdown with one of our bikes we will provide a replacement or where no alternative bike is available we will provide a refund equivalent to the lost hire period.

Cycling is a strenuous activity, please ensure that you exercise in accordance with your personal abilities and experience. The Penrose estate features rough terrain and inclines.

I acknowledge the above conditions of hire. I am 18 years of age. I (and my party) are all in good health and physically able to perform this activity.

Bike Servicing

Please drop your bike to us before 10.30am to ensure our mechanics have sufficient time to carry out your service.

The £35 bike service rate covers labour and materials for a standard service.  If your bike requires new parts and additional labour time (fitting) this will incur additional charges that will be payable at the point of pick up.  However the customer will be made aware of any additional charges (parts/labour) if applicable before the work is carried out.
